Gerlingen - Langenfeld-Echterdingen

Writing this up some time after the event, I can't really remember this last day, as it was mainly spent meandering around the long way to the airport.

I didn't do breakfast again, this time because it was horrifically expensive, so I picked up a cake on the way. I followed the same route as yesterday to start with, but went further onto the historic/art/sculpture route or whatever it was.

The advantage of covering the same ground for a second day is that you're less likely to lose your way. Less, but not completely. I was OK until I got near the airport (or at least what the map told me was near) then I started to get worried that I couldn't see it. I mean, airports are pretty big, aren't they? Added to which, I'd flown to/from this one upwards of 50 times so I knew it wasn't that tiny.

Eventually, I stumbled across it, nestling coyly in a fold in the ground. I assembled the DIY bike wrapper, and off we went home. When I got there, I found I'd dislodged a wire on the dynamo so had no front light, but that's another story...
